Minutes of the meeting of June 3, 2003

John T. Hazel Auditorium, Arlington Hospital


1. The President called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM.

2. Pledge of Allegiance. The formal meeting began with recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

3. Approval of Agenda. The agenda was approved as amended (deletion of the presentation of a parks committee resolution.).

4. Approval of Minutes. Minutes from the May 6, 2003meeting were approved with three minor changes. One involved a change to a dollar balance in the Treasurer's report. Under Committee Reports, the motion about the Spout Run should have read to postpone rather than to table. In addition, the motion was not seconded by Steve Bauer.

5. Treasurer's Report: Treasurer Frances Finta's written report shows a combined checking and savings accounts balance of $5,978.86 less a 911 Scholarship Fund balance of $1,031.92, leaving a Federation balance of $4,046.77. The report was accepted. Eighty-two of 84 organizations have paid their current dues.

6. Committee Reports: Very brief reports were presented by several committees

7. New police chief Doug Scott spoke briefly to Federation delegates.

8. Election of Officers and members of the Executive Committee. Nancy Hunt presented the report of the Nominating Committee, recommending the following slate: President - Dan Krasnegor; Vice-President - Patrick Smaldore; Treasurer - Frances Finta; and Secretary - Tim Wise; Executive Committee - Nancy Graham, Kim Johnson-Smith, Ken Marcus, Randy Swart, and Barbara "Bobbie" Wallace. Roye Lowry moved to close nominations, which was seconded and approved. The Nominating Committee's slate was approved unanimously.

9. Program. Members of the Parks & Recreation Commission, North Tract Task Force, Open Space Master Plan Task Force, and County staff (Tobin Smith, Eric Beach, and Eric Sidon) presented delegates with information about the plans for North Tract and the Open Space Master Plan. It was followed by a Q&A session.

10. New Business. None.

11. Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at approximately 9:20 pm.
