Resolution of the Arlington County Civic Federation
Support for Civic Association Alliances
Adopted February 7, 2006
Whereas during Arlington County Civic Federation Executive Committee discussions it was determined that any number of informal alliances of multiple civic and other organizations exist for addressing local issues, problems or, other concerns (for example, Metro Corridor civic organizations dealing with development, housing and other issues in common);
Whereas the ACCF Executive Committee wanted to reaffirm the availability of Civic Federation processes, support, and resources to these alliances as a long standing objective of the ACCF's principles;
Whereas this availability of such support and resources could be used, or not, at the discretion of such informal alliances and, was not meant in any way to impinge or interfere with any such informal alliances;
Whereas the ACCF Executive committee felt it desirable to inform and publish to all Civic and other member organizations as to the availability of its support and resources through the publishing of a resolution;
Whereas such a resolution was supported by unanimous vote of all attending Executive Committee members:
Be it resolved that the Civic Federation recognizes that civic associations and other organizations will form informal alliances concerning local issues. The Civic Federation is pleased to offer its support and resources to those alliances.
