Report of the October
Executive Committee Meeting
(Intended for the ACCF meeting of November 11, 1997, but not delivered.)
The Executive Committee met on October 16th.
We plannned for the November meeting and the December School Board
meeting. Questions for the School Board can be submitted to Bill
Nolden.
We received a letter of thanks from County Board Chairman Ellen
Bozman for the Federation's Association Workshop in September
Parks and Recreation is seeking input on the County's policy on
memorial plaques. The Executive Committee does not recommend changes.
The Federation has been asked to name representatives to the Pedestrian
Advisory Committee.
We approved the appointment of Reed Goldstein as the Federations
representative on the Community Development Citizens Advisory
Committee, with Tim Wise as his backup.
Paul Miller of Aurora Highlands and Randy Swart will be the auditing
committee to audit the Federation's financial records.
BOCA has approached the Membership Committe for information on
being admitted to Federation membership.
We approved a letter to the County Board asking that the Civic
Federation's President or Vice President be on the committee
to interview County Manager candidates. Bill Nolden will also
prepare a letter from the Federation with suggested questions
for the candidates.
Developers are asking that the Pentagon City Phased Development
Site Plan be amended. We referred questions on that to the Federation's
Land Use and Zoning Committee.
The next Executive Committee meeting will be held Thursday, November
20 at 8 PM at the Chamber of Commerce building, 2009 14th St.
N. Suite 111. Observers are always welcome. Please call me at
