Dear Jim:
I am writing on behalf of the Ashton Heights Civic Association (AHCA) concerning the prospect of locating a major league baseball franchise and facility in Arlington. Please add this letter to the planned Civic Federation debate on this subject scheduled for the March 5 meeting.
Arlington is a small, well built-out place. It seems unlikely that a facility of this magnitude, including necessary parking space, can easily fit within the County's confines. With this in mind, we do not prejudge the prospect of such a large undertaking in Arlington. AHCA remains wide open to the possibility that a way that would provide sufficient net local benefits can be found. Therefore, we welcome credible proposals to build and operate a major league baseball facility in Arlington that can be evaluated fairly and openly on their specific merits.
Please feel free to contact me if the Civic Federation would like to pursue our point of view further. Thank you very much for your attention
Sincerely,
Ken Matzkin
