Get Your 911 Commemorative Baseball Cap Today!
The Civic Federation's 911 Cap Project to benefit the 911 Scholarship Fund officially kicked off on Neighborhood Day! Thanks to seed money provided by Dogma Gourmet Dog Bakery and ClarendonDogs, we were able to have 178 caps made. We already have sold more than $600 worth of caps and have just begun! Since the caps will be available all summer long through to Clarendon Day in October, it is expected these caps will provide the Scholarship Fund with a "nice chunk of change." What a wonderful way to show our support of Arlington's Heroes!
As you may have seen when they were previewed at last month's Civic Federation meeting, the cap honoring the Arlington County Fire Department has embroidered gold letters (ACFD) outlined in red and features a dalmatian dog. The cap honoring the Arlington County Police Department has embroidered silver letters (ACPD) outlined in blue and features a german shepherd dog. These blue cotton caps are $18 each with the profits benefiting the 911 Scholarship Fund. There is a special two for $30 offer as well, and personnel from Arlington's police, fire, EMS and Sheriff's office are extended the same $15-each price for a single cap.
Judy Green will be selling these caps at our June meeting but could use your help at upcoming community events. If you have some time, or would like to purchase one of these caps, please contact her at judy+ or call 703-578-4645.
