Letter to the Arlington County Board Lot Coverage Amendment
May 3, 2005
Arlington County Board
Arlington County, Virginia
#1 Courthouse Plaza, Suite 300
2100 Clarendon Boulevard
Arlington, VA 22201
Honorable Jay Fisette, Chairman
Subject: Resolution of the Arlington County Civic Federation on Lot Coverage Amendment
The Arlington County Civic Federation at the April 23, 2005 public forum passed the following resolution:
(1) That the Arlington County Board not adopt either the ZORC proposal or the Manager's proposed amendment; and
(2) That the Arlington County Board determine that no change is warranted to the lot coverage rules in the absence of consideration of other factors and refer the matter back to staff and a community committee to examine how the zoning rules might be changed with more equitable effect, including to take into account the special circumstances of individual neighborhoods.
You can download the presentations, handouts, and survey results from the 4/23 Civic Federation Public Forum on Lot Coverage from Martha Moore's server.
We feel this is important, and we ask that you include it in your discussions of these matters. We look forward to your response to our letter. Please feel free to contact me via telephone at: 703-528-3935, or via email at; pat@civfed.org.
Thank you.
