Proclamation of
Arlington Civic Month
Whereas, participation by all citizens in the
affairs of their community is necessary to ensure good government;
Whereas, the Arlington County Civic Federation is composed of numerous civic and
community organizations;
Whereas, the Arlington County Civic Federation is in its 84th year of participation in
a variety of aspects of Arlington community life, including traffic calming, Neighborhood Day,
community beautification, schools, safety and transportation, to name a few; and,
Whereas, the members of civic organizations are recognized for their active participation in
community affairs;
Now therefore, I, Barbara A. Favola, Chairman of the County Board of Arlington, Virginia,
do hereby proclaim the month of April 2000 as
Arlington Civic Month
and urge all citizens to assume an active role of civic responsibility to
improve our community.
