Whereas the County Board resolved on February 15 to create a structured process that ensures the involvement of stakeholders in the development of amendments to the General Land Use Plan and the affordable housing related provisions of the Zoning Ordinance,

Whereas the stakeholders would include for-profit commercial and residential developers, nonprofit housing developers, the Arlington County Civic Federation, the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, large employers, owners of existing office buildings, commercial properties, garden apartments, affordable housing advocacy groups, and tenant groups,

Whereas the Arlington County Civic Federation voted in support of the Board's February 15 resolution,

Whereas Civic Federation members have voiced a desire for the Housing Committee to propose a more comprehensive plan to address affordable housing issues,

Be it resolved that the Civic Federation support a six month County process to study and amend Arlington's General Land Use Plan and the affordable housing-related provisions of the Zoning Ordinance.
