Infill Houses that Bother You


Arlington County is in the midst of an effort to control the worst examples of "sore thumb" infill houses that do not fit in your neighborhood. In the form below they ask for your input on the houses you find worst. (Please do not be put off by the repetition of the word egregious, which just means terrible.) Here is a message from the County Manager on an infill circular you may have received from a new group. He believes it was misleading.




Dear Arlington County Citizens:

As you know, the County is currently reviewing the Zoning Ordinance concerning maximum lot coverage. The study of maximum lot coverage was initiated by concerns expressed by many people in the community about some in?fill residential development projects that are significantly out of scale and character with the neighborhood. The Zoning Ordinance Review Committee (ZORC) and Planning Division staff are conducting research on this subject.

As part of the research, ZORC and staff would like to ask your assistance. Do you know any "egregious" houses in your neighborhood? Particularly in terms of lot coverage? If so, please let us know about those houses. Please fill in the following form and send it to the following address.
